The Millennium Divers Dorset Club is a group of divers who really just want to enjoy themselves and dive! As long as you are a qualified diver from a recognised agency, you are welcome to join us, diving within the limits of your certification and experience. As a member you can enjoy diving with us every Tuesday evening as well as weekends. All levels of certification are catered for, and a variety of excellent dives are available.
In addition to regular club outings around the South Coast of the UK, MDD are also involved in a number of wreck research and exploration projects. In fact, in 2006 we won the Nautical Archaeology Society “Adopt a Wreck” award for our work on the unknown coaster. This wreck is lying in three parts: The bow is pointing up to the surface, the midship lies on its starboard side and is badly broken up, whilst the stern is in quite good condition by comparison. As the name suggests, this wreck is currently unidentified, although it is believed to originate from Newcastle.
We also have active research projects on the wrecks of the Binnendyjk, the Salsette and the U772.
The club also organises training for its members, and regularly hosts GUE Fundamentals and Tech classes.
