Brian AllenBrian was first taught to dive at age 8 by his father, one of Fort Bovisand’s military Diving Instructors. Ever since his first few breaths underwater back in 1982 he has been an avid and active diver. He owns and manages two dive companies, Aquanauts Dive Centre in Plymouth and Ocean Explorers. His 2 main underwater passions are marine conservation (through the weekly Seasearch group he set up in 2004) and deep wreck exploration, based around the Western end of the English Channel. He manages to combine these with a keen interest in underwater videography that encompasses filming his students to give precise training feedback, and recording many of his dives in one of the world’s most interesting and challenging underwater environments.

In his career Brian has completed over 2000 dives and as an Instructor personally certified over 300 divers. He has extensive experience working and leading diving expeditions throughout the UK and around the world in Thailand, Malaysia, Mozambique, Malta, and Egypt. Brian is also a Seasearch Surveyor, NAS diver, and a commercially endorsed UK dive boat skipper. Although he holds many Instructor qualifications with other agencies, he is now a full time GUE Fundamentals Instructor, and part of the team creating the GUE Open Water Program. Brian is a dedicated Instructor that loves his job and friends he has made through the sport, his enthusiasm for diving and GUE shines through.
